Electra owns and operates the electricity lines and distribution assets in the Kapiti-Horowhenua region.
Electra introduced the following new line charges on 1 April 2004. The overall price increase is 1.3%. The Supply Charge has not changed.

Six monthly Sales Discount
A six monthly Sales Discount will be credited to the consumer at each supply point (ICP) at the discount date in September 2004 and March 2005.
The discount will be 21% for September and 26% for March, of the ICP's total fixed and variable Line and Transmission charges for the previous six months. The minimum six monthly sales discount for each ICP on the standard pricing options will be $80.00 (incl GST), and $10.00 (incl GST) for those on the Low Fixed Charge option.
The September discount covers the charges for the period March to August and the March discount will cover the charges for the ICP for the period September to February.

Power Factor Charge
This applies to commercial customers. Where the power factor is less than 0.95 Electra reserves the right to impose a power factor charge. The charge will be based on a multiplier of 2% of the monthly total Line charges for every 0.01 power factor below 0.95 lagging |
