Brian Byers

I have worked in a number of different fields - initially in the Public Trust, then Woolworths NZ Ltd, then my first foray into Public Accounting with a sole practitioner in Wellington, followed by a few years with an American company W R Grace(NZ) Ltd in Porirua, then a number of years as a partner in Spackman Mansell White and Co in Paraparaumu.  This was followed by a number of years in Treasury until I finally set up on my own as a sole practitioner in May 1982 at Raumati Beach.

I qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1966 (after having studied at night school) and my experience in various accounting fields assisted me when facing the numerous queries one gets when in sole practice.

My practice grew quickly and when sold in 2002 I had nine staff - six full-timers and three part-timers.

I am now semi-retired and have retained quite a number of Trusts and Estates as clients and thoroughly enjoy being still involved in accounting and management.
